Heat Seeks Out Cold!
Heat will travel from a warmer place in your home to a cooler space. In cold weather, it flows from heated rooms to an unheated attic, your garage or to the outdoors. In hot weather, heat flows from outside your home to its interior. To maintain comfort, the heat lost in the winter must be replaced by your heating system and the heat gained in summer must be removed by your air conditioner. Insulation that you may have resists the flow of heat, which prevents unwanted circulation. Thus, in a well-insulated house, rooms stay warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer with less of an energy expenditure.
